📍 Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce building codes and zoning regulations
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with City Codes and ICC standards
  • Work with residents, contractors, and city departments
  • Assist with land-use coordination and zoning matters
  • Represent the City in court when necessary
  • Support building maintenance alongside the Chief Building Inspector

📍 Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of construction practices and ability to read plans
  • Valid Missouri Class F driver’s license

Note: Must obtain ICC Property Maintenance and Residential Inspector certifications within one year of hire.

📍 Work Environment

  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Regular walking, standing, and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Combination of field inspections and office coordination
