📍 Key Responsibilities
- Enforce building codes and zoning regulations
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with City Codes and ICC standards
- Work with residents, contractors, and city departments
- Assist with land-use coordination and zoning matters
- Represent the City in court when necessary
- Support building maintenance alongside the Chief Building Inspector
📍 Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of construction practices and ability to read plans
- Valid Missouri Class F driver’s license
Note: Must obtain ICC Property Maintenance and Residential Inspector certifications within one year of hire.
📍 Work Environment
- Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Regular walking, standing, and lifting (up to 25 lbs)
